Newest member of the Heritage Center Family of Non-Profits
Feed the People is a newly formed non-profit organization whose goal is to provide a free, hot meal to any resident of Carbon County/Panther Valley. No registration is necessary. Currently, once a week, different locations host the cooking and serving of meals - the 1st Tuesday the Heritage Center in Summit Hill, the 2nd Wednesday Trinity Lutheran Church of Lansford, the 4th Thursday Christ Redeemer Church in Coaldale.
Menus consist of soup and sandwich and dessert. Our recipes come from our participants, volunteers, and host staff. Our chefs are health and food safety conscience. All donations received are used to purchase fresh food products to be served each week and to buy the paper products needed to serve. Community members volunteer their services to staff Feed the People. We have established an atmosphere that is welcoming, comfortable to all - bring your family, children and friends. All are welcomed. Come eat at our community café.
Our long-range plan is not only to provide a delicious, hot meal, in a safe, welcoming atmosphere, but to also provide information about benefits and services available in the community. Volunteers can arrive at the Heritage Center and Trinity Lutheran at 8:30 am and Christ Redeemer in Coaldale at 10:30 am. For further information or to volunteer please call (570) 657-1480.
